Divorce is one of the most stressful events in life. Divorce can significantly impact your mental, emotional and physical health, your family relationships, your social support network, your financial security, your immediate daily routine, and your professional future. Going through a divorce as a lawyer can be particularly stressful for a number of reasons. You’re used to being the problem solver, not the one needing help. And your clients and deadlines have no appreciation for the added stress that a divorce puts on you and your law practice.
That’s where we come in: Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers is launching a support group for lawyers going through divorce. Whether you are at the very beginning, midway through, or long since “finished” with the divorce process, this group will provide support, information, resources, and coping skills to help you manage the changes and unique stress you’re facing. We will bring in speakers to cover various aspects of the divorce options, medication, co-parenting, law office management best practices, and other relevant issues.
Divorce is difficult. Make it easier by choosing to use the support that’s available to you.
Come to the intro session on November 4th from 12 to 1pm to learn more. Future groups will be held twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Fridays. The group is free and confidential. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the group facilitator, Dr. Shawn Healy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
